Cookie Privacy Notice

Effective date: 3 November 2026 · Version: 2.5

Operator: POSSIAN YAZILIM ANONİM ŞİRKETİ ("MenuOnGo", "we", "us")

Contact: info@menuongo.com

This Notice forms part of the MenuOnGo Privacy Policy. Capitalised terms have the meaning given in the User Agreement and the Privacy Policy.

The service providers that process personal data for us are listed on our Sub-processors page.

1. Three Different Surfaces, Three Different Rules

This is the most important thing in this Notice, so it comes first.

1.1 menuongo.com — our marketing site and dashboard

Used by business owners who are considering or using MenuOnGo. This surface uses analytics and advertising cookies, because we advertise our product and need to know whether our advertising works.

1.2 Published Menus on paid Plans and in the free month

These menus set no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking and no advertising or analytics tags, and show no cookie banner. A guest scans, and reads the menu. Nothing interrupts them. The menu keeps only a few small notes on the guest's device: the language they chose, and the times of their last visits, so that each visit is counted once (Article 3.1). The only third-party code is a security check that loads if the guest opens the comment form (Article 3.6).

1.3 Published Menus on the Free plan

The Free plan is funded by advertising. Free plan menus display advertisements supplied by a third-party advertising provider, including Google (the "Ad Provider"), which uses advertising cookies and similar identifiers. What happens depends on where the guest is:

  • Outside the United States: a consent notice is shown. No advertising cookie is set, and no advertising tag is loaded, until the guest consents. The guest can read the menu whether or not they consent.
  • In the United States: no consent notice is shown. Advertising cookies may be used from the start, and every Free plan menu carries a "Your Privacy Choices" link through which the guest can opt out at any time. A Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from the guest's browser is treated as an opt-out automatically.

For the advertising on Free plan menus, MenuOnGo is the controller (Privacy Policy, Article 1.3). The business whose menu is shown does not choose, receive or control any of this data.

2. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small files a website stores on Your device. Similar technologies — local storage, pixels, SDK identifiers and server logs — do comparable things. In this Notice, "cookies" covers all of them.

3. Published Menus

3.1 How menu visits are counted

The business whose menu is being viewed can see how often its menu is visited. We count visits without any identifier: nothing we keep can recognise a guest.

To count each visit only once, the menu keeps two times in the guest's browser storage for that menu: when the guest last opened it after scanning its QR code, and when they last opened it otherwise. They are never sent to us. Once two hours have passed without a visit, they are deleted the next time the guest opens any MenuOnGo menu; clearing the browser data deletes them too. When a new visit starts — the first time the guest opens the menu, or after two hours without opening it — the menu tells our server only which menu was visited, whether the visit came from a QR scan or from the web, and, if the guest came through one of the business's share links, which link. Our server records the time it arrives. If the guest's browser blocks storage, the visit is not counted.

For statistics, we record nothing else about the guest — no network address, device, language or location. To stop automated floods of visits, our server keeps the network address together with the menu for at most a day, only to limit how many visits one address can send; it is never used for statistics.

Separately, for security and legal reasons, our servers keep access logs (IP address, port, date and time, page requested) for one year, as described in Article 2.3A of the Privacy Policy. They are never used for statistics or advertising.

The business whose menu is being viewed is the controller for this analytics data; MenuOnGo processes it on that business's behalf (Privacy Policy, Article 1.2).

3.2 Advertising on Free plan menus

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. For how Google uses this information, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. The full list of the Ad Provider's partners, with the purposes each pursues, is shown in the consent notice on the menu.

The Ad Provider may also read the content and web address of the menu page to match advertisements to it.

MenuOnGo receives only aggregated reports from the Ad Provider (impressions, taps and earnings by page or country). We hold no profile of any guest.

If a guest taps an advertisement, they leave the menu for the advertiser's website or app, which may set its own cookies under its own policy.

3.3 Your choices on a Free plan menu

Outside the United States — accept, reject or customise in the consent notice. Refusing does not stop You reading the menu. Change or withdraw Your choice at any time through "Cookie settings" on the menu; withdrawal applies from that point forward.

In the United States — use "Your Privacy Choices" on the menu to opt out of the sale or sharing of Your personal information for advertising, or turn on Global Privacy Control in Your browser, which we honour automatically. After opting out You will still see advertisements, but they will not be personalised.

Your choice is stored in a strictly necessary cookie on that browser. If You clear Your cookies or use another browser or device, You will need to make it again.

3.4 What the business sees, and what nobody sees through us

Available to the business: the number of visits per day, split into QR scans and web visits, and the visits that came through each of its share links, and the comments guests send, with the name and contact of a guest who asks for a reply.

Available to nobody through MenuOnGo, including us: the identity of any guest (except the name and contact a guest gives in a comment when asking for a reply, which only the business receives), a single guest's path across visits, precise location, or any profile of any kind. The Ad Provider's own processing is governed by its privacy policy and by the guest's choices above.

3.5 If You, as a customer, add a third-party link or embed to Your menu — a delivery platform, a social profile, a reservation widget — that third party may set its own cookies once the guest interacts with it. That is Your responsibility, not ours.

3.6 Comment form. If a guest opens the menu's comment form, the menu loads Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that tells people from automated programs, from Cloudflare's servers. Cloudflare processes technical information about the guest's browser for that check only. It is strictly necessary to protect the form, so it needs no consent, and it is not loaded while the guest only reads the menu.

4. Cookies on menuongo.com (Marketing Site and Dashboard)

Support chatRunning the chat widget and keeping Your conversation in one thread. In our cookie banner, this is the "Support chat" switchYesUp to 12 months

4.1 Advertising and measurement — stated plainly

We run advertising for MenuOnGo on third-party platforms. To know whether that advertising works, we use advertising and measurement technologies supplied by those platforms, which may set cookies or identifiers on our marketing site and may receive information that You visited it or signed up.

We may also capture a click identifier from an advertisement You clicked and store it with Your sign-up, so that a later purchase can be attributed to that advertisement.

These measurement tools are never present on Published Menus.

4.2 Consent and opt-out

Analytics, advertising and support chat cookies are set only after You consent through our cookie banner, wherever You are. Strictly necessary cookies are always set, because the site cannot work without them. If Your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, advertising stays off unless You turn it on Yourself.

You can change or withdraw Your choice at any time through "Cookie settings" in the site footer, or in Your account menu in the dashboard. Withdrawal applies from that point forward.

Support chat. The chat widget, including the AI assistant, runs only on menuongo.com and in the dashboard. It is never loaded on Published Menus.

4.3 Help Center videos

The how-to videos in our Help Center — on menuongo.com and in the dashboard — play in a player supplied by bunny.net, our video provider, which loads from its servers when You open a video's page. The player sets no cookies. In Your browser's storage it keeps where You stopped watching, so You can continue later, and Your player settings, such as volume and speed; these stay on Your device and are not sent to bunny.net. To deliver the video, bunny.net receives Your IP address and the address of the page, as any server does, and the player may send it anonymous technical statistics, such as streaming quality. The player is needed to play a video You chose to open, so it needs no consent. It is never loaded on Published Menus.

5. Legal Grounds

GDPR / UK GDPR and ePrivacy. Strictly necessary and preference cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure service. Advertising cookies on Free plan menus, and analytics, advertising and chat cookies on menuongo.com, are set on the basis of consent. The times kept for counting menu visits (Article 3.1) contain no identifier and serve only that count, on the basis of the business's legitimate interest in knowing how often its menu is visited.

Türkiye (KVKK). Strictly necessary and preference cookies are processed under Article 5/2-f of Law No. 6698 (legitimate interests of the data controller). Advertising cookies on Free plan menus, and analytics, advertising and support chat cookies on menuongo.com, are processed on the basis of explicit consent under Article 5/1. Guests located in Türkiye are not served the Ad Provider's code: Free plan menus show them only MenuOnGo's own advertisements, served from our servers without cookies or identifiers and without personalisation, and no advertising data about them is transferred abroad.

United States. Advertising cookies on Free plan menus and on menuongo.com may amount to a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under California law and similar state laws. On menuongo.com they are set only if You opt in, and You may withdraw at any time through "Cookie settings"; on Free plan menus, You may opt out through "Your Privacy Choices" (Article 3.3). GPC is honoured as an opt-out (Privacy Policy, Article 11).

6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can delete or block cookies through Your browser settings — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and others all provide this.

Be aware: if You block strictly necessary cookies, the dashboard will not work, and Your consent or opt-out choice cannot be stored, so You may be asked again. If You block storage on a menu, the language You chose is not remembered and Your visits are not counted.

Browser-level opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) are honoured as an opt-out of sale and sharing.

7. Changes

We may amend this Notice by publishing an updated version at menuongo.com.
